Chief Michael Connolly is the ninth Chief for the Broadmoor Police Department. Prior to becoming Chief of Broadmoor, Chief Connolly was an elected Police Commissioner for the Broadmoor Police Department since 2016.
In addition, Chief Connolly has thirty-seven years of law enforcement experience and retired from the San Francisco Police Department as the Deputy Chief for the Bureau of Investigations after thirty years.
Chief Connolly additionally served as the Deputy Chief of the Professional Standards Bureau where he developed the compliance program for the Department in collaboration with the United States Department of Justice. Chief Connolly is also currently on staff as a part-time educator for the City College of San Francisco in the Administration of Justice program.
Chief Connolly is a graduate of Leadership SF, a premier leadership course for San Francisco leaders committed to solution-based problem solving strategies dealing with current and emerging issues in society. Chief Connolly is also a graduate of the United States Department of Justice, FBI National Academy, 250th Session.
Chief Connolly holds a Masters Degree in Emergency Services Administration from California State University, Long Beach; a Bachelors Degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco and an Associates Degree in Administration of Justice from City College of San Francisco. Chief Connolly is a member of the California State Guard and serves as the Commanding Officer for the Emergency Response Command: TEAM SHIELD and the Mission Support Detachment.
Chief Connolly has resided in Broadmoor, Ca for almost 30 years with his wife having raised his family there.
